A dental crown is a restoration used to encase the visible structure of a tooth. Also known as a dental cap, a crown helps to restore the structure, function, and appearance of a tooth so you can have a healthier smile.

Why Do You Need A Crown?

What Are Crowns Made Of?

How Are Crowns Applied?

After numbing your mouth with a local anesthetic, our dentist will file away tooth tissues to make room for the crown. We then take an impression of your mouth to send to a dental lab for the crown's creation. When we have received the permanent crown, we will cement it over your tooth, hardening the cement with a curing light. After making final adjustments with polish, glaze, and shape, the application procedure is finished.

How Do You Care For A Crown?

You must continue an oral hygiene routine of brushing and flossing to clean a crown. This restoration usually lasts 5-8 years, but it can last up to 15 years if you take good care of it. If the crown fractures, loosens or falls off of your tooth, then come to our office so we can make the necessary repairs.
